Ephesians 4:11-16
Adult Course Registration
God’s Whole Woman (Renew, Refresh, Revive)
Facilitator: Minister Mickie Valentine
Day/Time: Mondays, 6:30pm
Ladies, we invite you to invest in yourself. All too often, we allow ourselves to be defined by the pain done to us rather than by the God who can heal us. Jesus beckons us to wholeness, but He can’t accomplish His miraculous work in our souls without our permission. Wholeness is a state of being in which our fractured hearts are mended, the empty well inside our soul is filled up with the love of Christ, and we cease looking to people, possessions or power to make us feel complete. In this study, you will:
• Declare enough is enough from facing your personal rock bottom
• Discover an undeniable truth is essential to your belief.
• Realize your negative thoughts are not your true self.
• Develop habits will ignite and sustain a spiritual awakening.
• Become aware what your purpose in life is.
• Establish a strong connection with your creator.
• Become the person you are meant to be.
The Book of James
Facilitator: Minister Chris Pennywell
Day/Time: Wednesdays, 6:30pm
The book of James looks a bit like the Old Testament book of Proverbs dressed up in New Testament clothes. Its consistent focus on practical action in the life of faith is reminiscent of the Wisdom Literature in the Old Testament, encouraging God’s people to act like God’s people. The pages of James are filled with direct commands to pursue a life of holiness. He makes no
excuses for those who do not measure up. In the mind of this early church leader, Christians evidence their faith by walking in certain ways and not others. For James, a faith that does not produce real life change is a faith that is worthless (James 2:17).
In this study, you will:
• Be inspired to put your faith into action in practical ways
• Understand the power of the resurrection.
• Plug into your community to meet the needs of those around you.
As for Me (study of the Book of Psalms)
Facilitator: Pastor Paulette Norris
Day/Time: Thursdays, 6:30pm
As we journey through Psalms, we will experience the authors’ suffering, hurt, rejection, abandonment, deliverance, salvation, exaltation, victory, and great joy. It is a book full of every emotion imaginable, and at times it can be messy—just like life.
Because Jesus often referenced this ancient book of poetry that is filled with such rawness and honesty, I know I have the freedom to be raw and transparent with Him, too.
As the psalmists poured their hearts out to God, we see them wrestle through various hardships with a reinforced commitment as if to say: No matter what is going on around me, this is what I choose... As for me. “But as for me, I will wait and hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more (Ps 71:14)
In this study, we will take an in-depth look at the types of Psalms. The psalms are traditionally categorized based on their main idea or writing style. Traditionally, these categories include thanksgiving, wisdom, lament, royal, trust, praise, prophecy, pilgrimage, imprecatory, and temple hymns. Many psalms fit into more than one of these categories.
• Week One... “As for me” & “Thanksgiving”
• Week Two... “Wisdom”
• Week Three...” Royal and Prophetic”
• Week Four ... “Lament”
• Week Five...”Trust & Imprecatory”
• Week Six...”Praise – Our Response”
